As we’ve said before and will continue to stress, we aim for physical community as one of our core offerings.  We think active, thoughtful communication and storytelling plays a big role in creating an engaged user base.

We’re looking for a highly creative and passionate communications guru to help build our brand presence and effectively convey our values and mission to existing and prospective climbers alike.  Through a variety of digital platforms including social media, website, email, and our blog, the Marketing Manager will be tasked with managing the content for all marketing and outreach communications.  She/He will also oversee our online advertising campaigns and SEO optimization, working with management to further develop our ad strategy and budget.

Candidate must be excited about functioning in a collaborative team environment.  She/He will work closely with other key management positions to coordinate output for multiple business lines.  We expect the Marketing Manager to influence other aspects of the business and act as a key holder / shift supervisor.
 


duties

  • Manage marketing and advertising strategy 
  • Manage social media accounts
  • Membership communications and management
  • Curate website / blog content
  • work with management to Develop and oversee marketing budget
  • Direct email campaigns and mail list communications 
  • content creation - all written copy, ideally also photo / video /graphic design
  • Coordinate and oversee any creative contractors
  • Facility signage / flyers
  • Shift supervisor

qualifications

  • Degree in marketing / communications / design or related experience
  • Social media platform management - FB, Instagram, Vimeo, Youtube
  • Digital advertising experience a plus - Adwords, Google Analytics, MailChimp
  • SEO optimization experience (preferred)
  • Graphic design - Adobe Suite (preferred)
  • Web design / development (preferred)
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills (required)

  • Full-time position 
  • Ability to work weekends / special events / competitions, when necessary
  • Must become an active and engaged member of the local climbing community  
  • Must be reliable, professional and enthusiastic about taking a leadership role in shaping the culture + community of a new climbing facility
